Quamp Residency Program

For the queers who want to co-create the magic.

Every year at Quamp Château, a small group of Residents arrives early to help shape the atmosphere, rituals, and creativity of camp. Not as staff. Not as volunteers.

But as creative contributors invited into the heart of the experience.

The Residency Program is a playful, structured way to share your gifts — whether you teach, host, design, lead, craft, ritualize, perform, or just know how to bring people together.

Teaching Residency

Price: 800€

Bring your craft. Teach your weird little class. Share the things you love.

Teaching Residents offer 3–4 creative workshops during the week — art teachers, writers, historians, performers of all kinds (Theater kids! Burlesque dancers! Comics! Clowns! Drag!)

This is for anyone who has a piece of knowledge or expertise to share, loves to step up in front of small or large groups (8-12, or more!), and is ready to facilitate some gaiety. Between training & teaching your electives, you’ll spend about 14-16 hours during the week on your residency program.

Experience an opportunity to experiment with art, community, and collective creativity.

  • You’ll join the core team for training, safety culture, community care sessions, and rehearsal time.

  • You’ll teach one elective per day (usually in the morning or afternoon), and you’ll have the rest of the day to nap, swim, explore, and attend everyone else’s offerings.

Cultural Residency

Price: 0€

Help design the social and emotional architecture of camp.
Host a ritual. Build a space. Invent a moment. Animate the vibes.

Cultural Residents create 4-6 immersive offerings across the week — evening events, themed spaces, installations, games, performative experiences, or anything that brings people together in a queer, joyful, imaginative way.

This is for anyone who has a vision for how to connect queer people in time and space somewhere in the chateau or on the grounds. Between training, hosting your sessions, and building the group experiences, you’ll spend about 26-30 hours during the week on your residency program.

Make the moment happen with connection, inspiration, and a group of magical queers.

  • You’ll help dream up + design your “zones”, for example:

    • A cozy movie nook

    • A sensory nap room

    • A disco chapel

    • Something unhinged

    • Something tender

This is creative work, not operational setup.
You’re building experiences — not doing chores.

  • You’ll run 2–3 evening cultural offerings of your choosing, plus 1–3 softer group bonding moments (sunset meditation, group games, hosting a creative station).

When you’re not facilitating, you’ll be free to participate in other electives and offerings. If there’s something in particular you have your eye on, let us know so we can prioritize getting you in!

    • ritual enthusiasts

    • installation artists

    • people with chaotic imagination

    • community animators

    • DJs & musicians

    • immersive experience artists

    • garden gnomes
