QWORDLE
-
Neither of the two terms you’re likely more familiar with.
-
It is what the kids call them.
-
Take the middle of the word parent and make it sweet.
-
Renny is a parent.
Not mommy, not daddy.
Origins: Shortened from the word parent itself. Ren is the plain form and Renny the affectionate one. Rara and Renren are other common versions people use.
Why: Nonbinary and trans parents often find that mom and dad do not fit, so people built many. Renny is one of the ones that has stuck.
Sensitivity: A parent name is chosen by the parent and used by their kids. It is not a label you apply to somebody else’s family. If you are not sure what a child calls their parent, ask the parent.
